Who rumored that Kermit the Frog was named after Love? The rumors over the years have always pointed to a childhood friend of Jim Henson, Kermit Scott, not Kermit Love. The Henson Company has categorically denied that rumor, though. It was a fairly common name way back when, although it's pretty much fallen completely off the radar nowaways, not even making it into the top 1000 since 1978, according to Social Security Administration. Guess not many parents want to name their baby boy after a frog.

I must admit a great love for Sesame Street and cant help but stop there while channel surfing.God Bless(ed) Sesame Street.

I credit Sesame Street and all it's lovable characters with my sanity today--the funny skits helped me learn to laugh at life and myself. The show was the source of many of my favorite childhood memories. Thank you Jim Henson and Kermit Love, for all the years you both made me smile...
