"I'm shocked that he managed to get so many people before he was caught"
If this happened in the Bronx, Joseph would've groped at least 75 people before being caught. Goes to show that it IS safer to live on Park Ave.
Believe me, those Park Ave. "ladies" got a secret thrill having a Bronx man feel 'em up. Saved them some serious cab fare as well.
In the space of less than half an hour last Tuesday, Joseph Martin, 26, of The Bronx, assaulted eight women, 24 to 84, along Park Avenue, authorities said.
He was busted when cops saw him assaulting his last victims, a woman and her 5-year-old daughter, authorities said.
Martin, 26, was indicted yesterday on counts of sexual abuse and forcible touching. He's free on $2,500 bail.
$2,500 bail??? That is insane, especially as he tried to escape from the police.
I think bail has to be set with a reasonable expectation that it would be onerous if forfeited but still possible to raise, otherwise one is left with the condition of summary imprisonment before conviction. I suspect that this freak may not have a fat bank account that would warrant a much higher bail. He's probably living in a van down by the river.
