Why can't he follow his family to Nebraska. I'm sure there are jobs out there he can find, especially with his educational background and experience. Why stay in New York--so that he can date those vapid Carrie Bradshaw wannabes, while his wife and kids are away.

A friend/former coworker of mine did this in the Financial District like 3 years ago. He just got his MBA and stated as such, whilst handing out copies of his resume. Dunno what happened to that whole thing. But the newspapers and blogs covered it back then too.

What is a failed "financial engineer" to do next, inspect cranes for the city? I like the way these financial people think they are offering real things rather than some soft speculative item. They refer to their services as products. They are not products they are services. They are in the financial services industry.
