When I hung in that neighborhood I was always partial to Smiling (Smiley's??) on the corner of 7th Avenue and 9th Street. I haven't tried it in a while though.

I've never been to those two pizza joints. If everyone here hates them, why don't you post your faves in your answers? I don't mean to turn this into a brooklynian poll but who doesn't like talking a little pizza in the AM? I am fond of Friends pizza on 8th ave. I love that their crust has a touch of cornmeal on the bottom and they have great variety. Everything is good, however, for Sicilian, I go to Joe's on PPW and Prospect Ave. Other places that are not very good: Albanese on 5th (7-8th street?) TASTELESS. Even their crushed red pepper has no flavor. only good in desperation.

On the other hand, he does appear to have a pretty good system (although I would've eaten whole slices and spaced it out over several days to avoid "pizza fatigue"). It's hard to judge pizza head-to-head though, because results will vary within each place depending on who's manning the oven. A true experiment would require a few more slice walks. Science calls for more pizza.

Unfortunately, Tomato & Basil is the only pizzeria in Park Slope with enough brazen disregard for personal property to litter entire blocks with their menus, including several stuck into fences affixed with a "No Flyers or Menus" sign. If you enjoy the hand of an asshole in your pizza, Tomato & Basil must be perfect. And the last time I got a slice at Lenny's, a slackjawed teenager burnt it. I was under the impression that Slice was an authoritative blog about pizza, but it would appear I am wrong.
