McMahon is not the Democratic nominee. He has a September primary against 06 candidate Steve Harrison, who received a higher percentage of the vote than any of Fossella's previous 5 opponents. McMahon is merely the machine endorsed candidate.

He had that bloated reptilian L.Ron Hubbardish lizard mask that the voters in Staten Island find simply irresistable. His replacement will be most difficult unless the Republican Party is willing to pay for some massive plastic surgery for its next candidate.
