George Carlin had a unique brand of cynical philosophical humor that forced people to think. His perspective on religion, to me, always seemed right on the mark. Over the last couple of years, I found his rants to be more political and angry than funny, but considering the long arc of his career, I'd say he earned his spot as one of the great voices of our time. RIP.
