Um, NYC is a place where a lot of people work incredibly hard for for very little money and live in domiciles that most Americans would consider laughable. If the occasional pillow or bubble fight breaks out and prevents one person from going totally bananas and stabbing a stranger on the street or jumping off a bridge, I am a booster.

It was so pretty to watch. And it was also fun to see the tourists' reactions when they'd ask, "What is this for?" and you'd answer, "fun." However the Astor Place battle was just slightly more magical because of the jazz band that was playing across the street.

It's like Tomatina in Buñol, Spain but soapier and thus cleaner. Neat.
