I was listening to a news radio station (and not a crazy one mind you, wcbs880) and one anchor had a conversation with a guy in Seattle who was pretty sure that Obama is just feigning his Christianity and will convert to Islam as soon as he is elected. At that point, he will lead the world into the end times described in the Book of Revelations, serving as the anti-Christ. If your mouth is hanging open in disbelief right now, you should have seen mine, because aside from all the insanity business, the man sounded like a perfectly reasonable and informed voter.

[3] Did I say I believed them? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I did write that I never believed the lies. See [1] above. Nor did I ever say that it wasn't stupid. I just agreed with the old lady that there are more important things to be worried about where Obama is concerned than some racist drivel. Please don't take off on a tangent when replying to me. The truth is that Dubya is the one who hates America. He holds us all in the utmost contempt. That's why he doesn't care about polls and gladly admits to it. We're all just a bunch of imbeciles that needs the strong leadership he provides. And we don't need to know anything about how he makes decisions. Just trust him. That's why pretty much every word on every page going into his presidential library will be classified and redacted.

I never bought into the scurrilous lies, but like the old lady, I have doubts about Obama, too. I've said it before, I'll say it again: Obama just feels like too much of a political lightweight. It's one thing to do well in an election, which is essentially a popularity contest, but quite another to actually get the job done. For all his talk of change, I doubt he'll be able to achieve much of it.
