Nasty Laxative Cake Prank Inspired by MTV

061908mtvcake.jpgMore on that student prank gone horribly wrong: The Daily News has it that seniors at the Brooklyn School for Global Studies who served their teachers cake laced with laxatives got the idea from watching MTV’s prank-reenactment show High School Stories. Two teachers ended up in the emergency room last week after eating the tainted cake, which was prepared by a straight-A student and her two friends, and ultimately sickened a grand total of two crossing guards, a social worker and three teachers.

The students were looking forward to four years of college, but now they're facing a maximum seven years of prison; yesterday police charged them with special counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. It seems likely that the authorities are just trying to teach them a lesson about “actions” and “consequences,” which, coincidentally, is exactly what MTV says High School Stories is all about. In a statement, the network declared that “MTV always depicts the very real ramifications of these actions, showing how seemingly harmless pranks can have serious consequences.”

But MTV has yet to learn about the serious consequences of airing this episode, which also inspired another laxative poisoning incident last year on Long Island, when some eighth graders served their teacher and 19 other students laxative laced donuts. Also, note to teachers: Students are trying to poison you. Do not eat or drink anything they give you!

In any case, the Brooklyn students will have to finish the school year at an alternative learning center. According to Fox News, if they need to visit their old school they’ll need to be escorted by a parent or guardian, and the pranksters won’t be allowed to liven up the graduation ceremonies with their presence, either.

Damn right about consequences. I wonder where that straight-A student was going to college.

True story - I knew a kid in high school who was supersmart, got into his Ivy choice early (rhymes with Barvard), but he then did something incredibly stupid as well, and when the school found out about it, it pulled his acceptance.

Kids need to learn that there's a difference between a "prank" and a stupid act can really mess up your future.

The students wanted their teachers to shit their pants in an embarrassing & comedic fashion. As this is a time honored prank, I am not against it, IF done correctly. The correct procedure MUST be followed to ensure proper bowel evacuation with minimal side effects.

A Mild LIQUID laxative should have been used, and instead of baking a cake which can obviously lead the trail back to you, they should have slipped it into their coffee or lunchroom food.

that's pretty shitty

prank and CRIME. That's the difference.

Hopefully, this will serve as an instructive lesson preventing other young people from doing something equally stupid. In fact, a youth-oriented network should air a made-for-TV special about putting pooping pills in a teacher's cake to emphasize . . . oh. You know what? Forget that.

I smell a Law & Order episode coming... but I bet they'll have the people get sick (1 will die) and they'll also go after the TV network exec that said yes to the airing of the show...

and you know I'm right on this one cause it sounds like a dozen other episodes you've seen already...

Hopefully, this will serve as an instructive lesson preventing other young people from doing something equally stupid.

That will never happen. Doing stupid things while young is part of growing up. Your answer did make me wonder what happened to those after school specials on ABC. But today's kids wouldn't watch them anyway when they have 24 hour cartoon/kids networks and craptastic 'reality' shows to watch instead.

The only way we can save our kids now is to make new episodes of the Degrassi High & 3-2-1 Contact.

What happened to bringing a cow to school or having teachers' cars towed?

They should be doing community service everyday for the rest of the summer.

They should have stuck with smoking pot, drinking Strawberry Hill and having unprotected sex. Didn't their parents teach them anything!?

I blame Jackass!! Oh, wait.

Damn amateurs. MIT and Caltech students really knew how to pull pranks. Imagine coming back to your dorm room one day to find that someone had disassembled your car, brought it into the room and reassembled it. Now that's a prank. Nobody hurt, no criminal charges.

"I smell a Law & Order episode coming"

That didn't come out right...

and #7: I think you are missing the sarcasm in Dave's post. Are you suffering from some kind of brain injury or dementia perhaps?

shows what kind of brilliance it takes to get straight A's at that school..

From the douches who brought you Jackass and Punk'd comes MTV's newest hit reality show...PWNED!!!

"Dewd, those teacher gaht lahk towtally PWNED!!! ROTFLMAOQWERYUNGHGUNGH!!!"

Download the latest episode and post your latest pwnage on MTV.com.

I knew somehow this would be Beavis and Butthead's fault.

#15, If I missed Dave's use of sarcasm, I apologize immensely and beg forgiveness. In fact, I hope my dementia doesn't kick in before I'm able to do so in person. That would be SO embarassing.

When the hell is school over in New York? It's mid-June!

^Godd question. I guess school's over when the teacher's on life support.

Don't get any ideas, you dumbfuck 'A' students.

#20 End of June, usually. They get July/August for summer break :P

And these are A students where? A is relative...if everyone else is pretty dumb too, then you're likely not as great. Of course your grades don't gauge if you've got the thought process to consider consequences or not.
