My favorite place is Tuck Shop, near 1st and 1st, open til 5am, and a savory meat pie is the best way to end the night. Also fun: Bereket, Veselka, and Kenka.

gold bar on broome street is great if its not TOO crowded. tao can be fun under similar circumstances. or for something a little more low key, 151 on rivington has a pretty chill atmosphere late night.

L'Express on Park Ave and 20th in Manhattan is impressive for the quality and scope of its late-night menu. It's not quite the same since the change in ownership a few years ago, but Bageltique on 5th Ave. in Brooklyn is the site of a bizarre DMZ between cops doing the overnight shift, drunkards, and early risers. I have seen some funny things transpire there.

blue ribbon on sullivan is open to 4am on most nights and is delicious and is usually a welcomed change of scenery from the bars at that time.

The best place for an after hours dinner downtown is Balthazar-- just don't go wild on the raw bar. I once made that mistake at about 1:30 in the morning after several drinks-- bad results ensued a few hours later.
