My favorite place is Tuck Shop, near 1st and 1st, open til 5am, and a savory meat pie is the best way to end the night. Also fun: Bereket, Veselka, and Kenka.

gold bar on broome street is great if its not TOO crowded.

tao can be fun under similar circumstances.

or for something a little more low key, 151 on rivington has a pretty chill atmosphere late night.

Oh and depending on what night you go and the crowds that go along with those nights, the Back Room can be fun.

L'Express on Park Ave and 20th in Manhattan is impressive for the quality and scope of its late-night menu.

It's not quite the same since the change in ownership a few years ago, but Bageltique on 5th Ave. in Brooklyn is the site of a bizarre DMZ between cops doing the overnight shift, drunkards, and early risers. I have seen some funny things transpire there.

blue ribbon on sullivan is open to 4am on most nights and is delicious and is usually a welcomed change of scenery from the bars at that time.

The best place for an after hours dinner downtown is Balthazar-- just don't go wild on the raw bar. I once made that mistake at about 1:30 in the morning after several drinks-- bad results ensued a few hours later.
