- Yankees 13 Houston 0: It should have been a great day for the Yankees. An easy win completing a 5-1 road trip should provide plenty of reasons to smile. But all the joy was dashed in the sixth inning when Chien-Ming Wang started limping on the way to scoring the first run of his career. Wang has been diagnosed with a sprain on the top of the foot and will have a MRI tomorrow.
Losing Wang for an extended period of time would be a devastating blow to the Yankees who have already lost two starting pitchers to injury. They will keep their fingers crossed that Wang’s injury is only a sprain and not a dreaded lisfranc fracture.
- Mets Earn A Split: As of right now, Willie Randolph is still the manager of the Mets though for how long is anyone’s guess. The Mets dropped game one 8-7, rallying from an 8-2 deficit and almost tying things up in a wild ninth.
In the nightcap, New York used six strong innings from Pedro Martinez and a 1-2-3 ninth from Billy Wagner to surpass the Rangers 4-2. Omar Minaya is headed out West with the team so Willie had better keep winning.

Surprisingly Broken Wang was still able to score, making it past 3rd base limp... what a trooper. We need Wang to bust it wide open. The last time he exploded on the field he really made a real mess of things for the opposing team. He has to learn not to Jerk it too hard or he'll get a lot more than a sprain.
