- Rudy's come a long way since he was crashing on some friends' couch after being bounced from Gracie Mansion by his former wife. Post-9/11 is sweet in the Hamptons when you've got some cash in the bank.
- Laying down the law, a NY Supreme Court justice ruled that the State had to award its judges a raise.
- The Administration for Children's Services disputes it, but the father of Kyle Smith is claiming that he fought to gain custody of his son.
- With Dennis Gallagher on the outs, Councilman Vincent Ignizio from Staten Island has assumed the position of minority whip in the City Council. The Staten Island Advance has a good explanation of the responsibilities of a party whip, but basically it means he's in charge of keeping members adhering to the party line. All two of them, in the case of Republicans.
- The phallic building in Park Slope next to lesbian bar Cattyshack will be a rental.
- An ambulette driver with a suspended driver's license struck and killed a 13-year-old boy yesterday. The boy darted out into the street from in front of two double-parked trucks.
- The Metropolitan Opera will be performing a free concert in Brooklyn's Prospect Park.
- And tomorrow is Yankee Hideki Matsui's birthday, which means it's triple free topping day at Go Go Curry.
