  • Today on the Gothamist Newsmap: a burn victim at Macombs Rd. and Inwood Ave. in the Bronx, a missing child on Powell St. and Sutter Ave, in Brooklyn, and a boat fire on Thursby Ave. in Queens.
  • Rudy's come a long way since he was crashing on some friends' couch after being bounced from Gracie Mansion by his former wife. Post-9/11 is sweet in the Hamptons when you've got some cash in the bank.
  • Laying down the law, a NY Supreme Court justice ruled that the State had to award its judges a raise.
  • The Administration for Children's Services disputes it, but the father of Kyle Smith is claiming that he fought to gain custody of his son.
  • With Dennis Gallagher on the outs, Councilman Vincent Ignizio from Staten Island has assumed the position of minority whip in the City Council. All two of them, in the case of Republicans.
  • The phallic building in Park Slope next to lesbian bar Cattyshack will be a rental.
  • An ambulette driver with a suspended driver's license struck and killed a 13-year-old boy yesterday. The boy darted out into the street from in front of two double-parked trucks.
  • The Metropolitan Opera will be performing a free concert in Brooklyn's Prospect Park.
  • And tomorrow is Yankee Hideki Matsui's birthday, which means it's triple free topping day at Go Go Curry.

Agreed. I know if that falcon gave me more than half of his or her attention, I'd probably drop my camera. Look at those talons!!
