Woman Found Murdered in Chelsea Apartment

2008_06_chelseamurd.jpgA 60-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her apartment last night. The Post reports the 60-year-old woman's boyfriend found her in the Eighth Avenue near 15th Street building around 11:15 p.m.

The boyfriend, who tried to revive her and called 911, told police he arrived home late and made the grisly discovery--the victim had been stabbed multiple times. According to the Daily News, 10th Precinct police officers were on the scene and the boyfriend was "led out of the building by police" for questioning, with "the back of the left leg of the carpenter pants he was wearing was covered in what appeared to be blood."

The building has a full-time doorman and police are trying to figure out how someone would have gained access to the apartment. A doorman told WCBS 2, "You have to be called in. If you have a guest, you have to be called in."
