THEATER: Longtime Village Voice theater critic Michael Feingold is putting himself in front of the firing line with his new one act play Japanoir. Inspired by his love for Japanese movies, his piece "tells two intertwining and contrasting stories of love, money, suspicion and betrayal, intercut with a Western interviewer's attempts to understand a great Japanese director's reflections on his art." The short play is part of the Ensemble Studio Theatre’s 30th anniversary “Marathon” series; plays by Lewis Black, Frank D. Gilroy, Jose Rivera, and Jacquelyn Reingold are also on tonight’s bill. – John Del Signore
