Tabloid Double Vision, NY Times Climbers Edition

2008_06_samecov.jpg

The Post and Daily News gleefully put the old Gray Lady on their covers with the same headline--"The New York Climbs"--in the Times' headline font. The NY Times tucks mention of the pair of unrelated climbers, Alain Robert and Ray Clark, who scaled its building to the bottom of the front page.

A year ago, the Post and Daily News didn't use the same headlines, but they did use the same cover and back cover images.

That french climber guy looks mad homo. No wonder he was able to climb at such ease. He probably floats like a fairy. You are a dude and you wear a earring? No offense to gay dude's, except the guys who wear earrings.

Can someone talk to NY Times and NYC so that NY Times can start charging people $100 plus sales tax for the fun of doing this ?
And make it legal.
Make the climber sign a waiver, so that no one else is responsible for his/her injuries/death.

This is a great money making idea.

There's a difference between those two papers?

Wait, the Times prints its headlines in EnglishTowne? Don't you mean nameplate font?

Yeah, I realized that right after I posted, but there's no way to edit comments here and I was too lazy to post a correction.

But anyway, I still prefer the scene in Superman: The Movie where a burglar climbs up the outside of the Solow Building using suction lifters. Like nobody would notice somebody climbing up the side of a midtown skyscraper even at night. Hey, Alain, something wrong with the elevator?
