and regarding the road rage incident:
if someone is threatening me with a knife, and i have a machete at arm's reach, i'm reaching. i think he actually reduced the risk of any harm being done, and i'm not sure what he did wrong.
i'm having a tough time reconciling, because i generally think we need far fewer weapons on the street, but in this case i think the machete served a sound purpose.
i'm sure they'll nail him on a weapons charge though, just for defending himself against some guy with a problem.
