Depends whether your German bankers are taking care of business. The USA, in its quest to become a Third-World country, has been printing money vigorously for several years, and accelerated the pace recently to compensate for the consequent failing (and falling) belief in the same.

this is a cute story, i guess, but I'm pretty sure this chalkboard is on the steps of a broker office on prince street, where they have always put all their rentals and sales up on chalk boards on the stoop. Sort of saying "we're cool, non threatening, bohemian chic" I could be wrong, this could be on some other step, but I pass this place to work, and it looks like them.

I think the prices are written in chalk because the $ is going to fall even more. You can't put that in ink because the sign would be reprinted too often.

well I was referring to the high prices ny-ers have to pay for their services. I just recently gave up my joint for cheaper living and the brokers brought people in to show it, they were did pretty much nothing, but turn the keys to open the door.

to me, the interesting part of the photo is that the price is listed also in euros. show's who is really running the city now and, sa much as i hate the tourists that are swarming the streets, our economy would really be fucked without them.
