Video of the Day: 7th Annual Great NYC Commuter Race
Streetfilms had five camera operators covering yesterday’s suspenseful rush hour race between a cyclist, driver and MTA commuter, and they’ve quickly edited together a video of the competition, which takes a bit of inspiration from Mike Figgis’s split-screen movie Time Code, sometimes showing the contestants battling it out simultaneously.
And Streetsblog also points us to today’s New York Sun, which is reporting on a sudden bike shortage at shops around town. Some bike shop owners say business is booming and they can’t keep models like the Jamis hybrid in stock. When Dixon's Bicycle Shop owner tried to order more, the manufacturer told him the shipment would be delayed because of soaring demand – which may have something to do with high gas prices forcing more commuters to get behind the handlebars.

And if you watched the video, you'd see she didn't wear her helmet at the start of the race or in any of the Brooklyn scenes. The first time you see her wearing it is when she's on the Manhattan Bridge.
You must be pretty desperate. She's kind of cute, but "hot?" Uh, no. Jessica Alba is hot. Gabrielle Union is hot. Megan Fox is hot. Jamie is lukewarm. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

her helmet is on a strap her back. If you watched the video you would have known that instead of jumping to conclusions.
