Pencil This In

SPORTS: Pinstripes in the Park brings the Yankees to Bryant Park...televised, of course. Watch the team play the Orioles tonight live and on the big screen. Seating is on the lawn, so bring a blanket. There will be concession stands selling food and beer as well as former Yankees (Al Leiter, Graig Nettles, Bucky Dent and Mike Torrez) making appearances.

5:30 to 11 p.m. // Bryant Park // Free

FOOD: Celeb chef, cookbook author and Food Network host Dave Lieberman will be sampling the new menu he has created for the W Hotels, each dish inspired by a branch of the hotel. Try the Truffled Taleggio Grilled Cheese (inspired by the upcoming W Milan), Chicken Kebabs (inspired by the upcoming W Marrakech), or other offerings from "Cravings by Dave Lieberman," or just show up to see if he's as cute in person as he is on TV.

7 to 9 p.m. // W New York – The Tuscany's Audrey and Cherry Lounges [120 East 39th St] // Free

FILM: Forget Sex and the City, and head over to the Media That Matters Film Festival. The "global showcase of short films inspire audiences to think, laugh and take action on today's most pressing social issues." Be the first to see their hand-picked collection of twelve inspiring short films. There will also be Take Action tables and a chance to meet the festival filmmakers. More details on the event (which is also on Friday) here.

7 to 9 p.m. // IFC Center [323 Sixth Ave] // $

MUSIC: The bill at Irving tonight includes a little old and a little new; She Wants Revenge and Be Your Own PET have a few years on their openers: The Virgins and Switches. Not up for four bands? The middle two seem like the best bet.

7 p.m. // Irving Plaza [17 Irving Place] // $26.50

0805sguthrie.jpgSarah Lee Guthrie (pictured), "youngest daughter of world-renowned folksinger Arlo Guthrie and the granddaughter of the legendary Woody Guthrie," will be performing alongside her husband Johnny Irion tonight at Union Hall. Irion is somehow related to author John Steinbeck, and the two are often joined by guitarist Tao Rodríguez-Seeger, grandson of Pete Seeger. See if they can all live up to their names tonight!

7:30 p.m. // Union Hall [702 Union St, Park Slope] // $14

THEATER: Today’s fun Times profile on Daniel Evans, the brilliant star of Sunday in the Park with George, reminded us that the show is actually still running! And it’s up for nine Tony awards. We saw the cerebral Stephen Sondheim musical, which takes as inspiration Georges Seurat and his 19th century masterpiece A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, back in February and quite enjoyed it. In from London, the production continues through the end of June – but if Whoopi Goldberg hands them the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical on June 15th you can forget about getting tickets. – John Del Signore

8 p.m. // Studio 54 [254 W 54th Street] // Ticket prices vary

EVENT: Bikers Unite, the 8th annual Bicycle Film Festival kicks off tonight with a party at Studio B. The night will include a screening of Jorgen Leth's Impossible Hour, with a live score by Blonde Redhead's Simone Pace. There will also be a performance by Soft Circle's Hisham Bharoocha and Daniel Leeb, who uses bicycle parts to create his sound. Bikes rock, indeed. More details on the flyer; more festival details here.

9 p.m. // Studio B [259 Banker St, Greenpoint] // $10
