I'd actually like to engage in more discussion with you but your entire body of replies is incoherent, at best. I'll take a stab, though: 1) Actually, my subconscious awareness is only noting a cursory understanding and perspective on our nation's history, which is that it is pointless to blame a specific race for being "more criminal" than others. The fact is that human beings without a proper moral foundation, combined with a sense of desperation (whether real or imagined), have a propensity towards crime. How history chooses to view this crime depends on who is writing and reading the history. For example, do we really think that the gangster bootleggers were so bad? Do we really view people like Prescott Bush with the same level of disgust as we do the common street criminal? Moreover, do we indict the entire set of families with multi-generational wealth for the actions of a prominent few? I think not. 2) I don't get your point about the rappers. I really don't, and I usually understand metaphors and similes very easily. There are far more successful black rappers than there are successful white rappers because the conditions of the market dictate this. For whatever reason, the likelihood of a record label signing a black rapper is much higher than the likelihood of said company signing a white rapper, simply because the former will be considered more marketable. That is, the former sufficiently appeals to the stereotypes with which many are comfortable. I'd also imagine that there is a favorable supply side to this equation in the same sense that there are quite a large number of Emo indie artists who happen to fit a certain profile. 3) Um, no not really. I just get tired of the frequent remarks by certain commentators here, who seem to jump on every single crime committed by a "minority" as evidence that so-called minorities are somehow inferior. I actually think that this story is an example of how the rehabilitative aspects of our criminal justice system are virtually non-existent. 4) not trying to be right, just trying to make a living as an honest American like many others. 5) I am old enough to remember Nixon. So, wrong there. Unfortunately, cheering that someone who is apparently guilty does nothing to fix the inequities in the criminal justice system. No matter how redeeming some might have felt that moment to be, it changed nothing in fact. Your final point, I really can't say that I understand. Then again, I'm not trying very hard.

"More to the point: do you really think that the majority of the black population is filled with criminals?" no. just less than 1% are in jail. really to the point: there're more black rappers than white rappers. are you saying that white suburban kids--even with all their purchasing and participating in the products are not good rappers??? is this genetic? why aren't there as many black rappers as there are white rappers? i really want to know. "Or just the ones you read about, since they're probably the only ones you know?" john lanorth must be your hero. finally you get to vent your years of frustration. congrats. "You're a disgusting, pathetically sad relic." the problem with trying to be too serious about being right is that such a 'good' person often adapts the behaviors of the offenders. you probably weren't alive during the O.J. trial, but i hope you weren't one of those people cheering when they announced his innocence. try again. a lot less seriously this time. or else you'll feel a lot of pain up your a$$hole. don't tell me i told you so.

no, but there are plenty of suburban kids dressing like rappers and buying the music...and you'd think that black people created the art of taking things by force that didn't belong to them. Of course, there's that little problem of Manifest Destiny...not to mention romanticism of the "Wild Wild West," among other things.
