sanford0805.jpgART: Artist Tom Sanford's installation show, titled Mr. Hangover, is something to check out before it comes down in June. "Featured in the exhibition are new works modeled after ubiquitous street posters that are plastered around most cities to advertise events, movies and products. Comprised entirely of hand painted posters that are unframed and tacked to the wall, they suggest influences that come as much from the broader consumer culture as they do from the arena of fine art." Get a preview here.

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through June 14th // Leo Koenig Inc. [545 West 23rd St] // Free

CELEBRATION: Come wish the Brooklyn Bridge a happy 125th tonight at its official birthday bash (it really grew up so fast, didn't it?). The five days of festivities kick off this evening with a concert by the Brooklyn Philharmonic, which will be visually accompanied by fireworks and a lighting ceremony which will illuminate the entire bridge.

6 p.m. // Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park, DUMBO] // Free

WINE: Swirl is having a singles soiree tonight in celebration of spring; "meet other people who love wine and food in a great atmosphere (read, no jarring music)." Enjoy seven hand-selected wines from around the world paired with artisanal cheeses and Sweet Muse chocolates. Buy tickets here.

7 to 9 p.m. // 16 W 23rd St, 4th Fl // $55

EVENT: A live art battle, tunes spun by the Finger on the Pulse deejays, and a live Ra Ra Riot show are all under one roof tonight. You'll also get free wine and food; we haven't figured out the catch yet, but RSVP here while you can.

7 to 10 p.m. // 70 Greene St // Free with RSVP

THEATER: America’s unflagging celebrity obsession gets widely and colorfully explored in the raucous theatrical carnival LA FEMME EST MORTE or Why I Should Not F%!# My Son. With live music, dance, raw meat and a cast of eight uninhibited performers, writer/director Shoshona Currier takes inspiration from the Phaedra myth to gleefully parody a nation addicted to escapism while riding an express train to hell. Additional text is pilfered from the speeches of General George Patton, interviews with Lizzie Grubman, Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, and Gwyneth Paltrow, and works by Seneca, Georges Bataille, and Brett Easton Ellis. “Flash photography is encouraged.” – John Del Signore

8 p.m. // PS 122 [150 First Ave.] // $15

I am amazed that you haven't wrote about Emily Gould and her break up with Josh and her fight with Julia Allison who was dating Jacob Lobkin who created launched a viral video featuring patrick moberg as seen on vimeo which he founded but got fired from.

I mean anyone who knows anything is interested in that.
