67 burger is awesome, but its just SO EXPENSIVE. burger, fries and a shake will set you back 16 bucks. ridiculous.

Corner Bistro is my fav. They've always got great jazz playing, open super late, and, unlike some of the other places, you can get really cheap good beer. If ambience matters, than the Bistro is the way to go.

67 Burger is where it's at, in Ft. Greene. Surprisingly, Sputnik on Taaffe Pl. in Clinton Hill has great bison/turkey/veggie burgers.

If you are in the LES you should check out Zait Zeff(ave B and between 3rd and 2nd) They have great burgers a little pricey but you do get what you pay for. Another great burger is Montpernass on 51st between 1st and 2nd If you are in the Village check out Paul's Joint its on the corner of st. marks and 2nd huge burgers with all sorts of toppings

Oh my favorites are either Shake Shack or Five Guys. With Five Guys, love the little cheeseburger and cajun fries. Mmmmmmm!

Julius on West Tenth & Waverly is still the best in my book. Great burgers, marvelous fries and wonderful, friendly bartenders!

Wasn't impressed with Corner Bistro the first couple of times I went but then it started tasting better. Like the relatively cheap beer along with it. I believe Corner Bistro uses the the George Forman grill rather than their usual grill after hours. Or maybe that's what my friends were getting me to buy when I had a bit too much of that cheap beer....

BLT Burger, Peter Lugers, and Fairway Cafe on 73rd make the best burgers in the city. Burger Joint at the Parker Meridian is highly overrated.

The Farm on Adderley on Cortelyou in Ditmas Park. and i also had the greatest burger of my life at Pianos of all places, but every trip back since has been a letdown.

Burger Joint and Corner Bistro are too crowded. For my money Jackson Hole makes the best burger only the locals eat. JG Mellon is also an inspired pick - good call #12.

Best burger goes to PJ Clark's, it's just next level good. Honarable mention goes to both JG Mellon's and Corner Bistro which are fantastic.

@mtd I tend to think the Corner Bistro burger is only good because you're drunk and hungry after the wait. Then again, as a Shake Shack fan, I'm probably starving after that wait, so who knows. I'll have to go back to Corner Bistro sometime soon to try it again.

I swear by the Julius Burger at 10th and waverly, saddle up to the bar for some bottled beer and enjoy the old timmer Gays while they cook up your fresh juicy burger at a steal for only 4 bucks

The Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridien which is unfortunately no longer a secret. The Bar at Etats Unis had an amazing burger on an english muffin but unfortunately I haven't seen it on the menu lately. I would also add Corner Bistro in the West Village to the list.

My girlfriend swears by Burger Joint at The Parker Meridien. While I like Burger Joint, I personally prefer the Double Shack burger at Shake Shack.

P.J. Clarke's on East 55th and 3rd Avenue...don't forget that special sauce on the side either - in my opinion, medium rare is best.
