THEATER: One of the most anticipated theatrical events of the year comes to DUMBO next month when St. Ann’s Warehouse presents a highly acclaimed production of Macbeth by the Polish company TR Warszawa. Staged for just 12 performances at an outdoor theater in the Civil War-era Tobacco Warehouse across the street from St. Ann’s, the bold production “reinvents the classic with a dramatic two-story set, video walls, special effects, and an extraordinary, layered soundscape.” Tonight St. Ann’s artistic director, Susan Feldman, talks with director Grzegorz Jarzyna; the program will also feature a DVD presentation of excerpts from Jarzyna’s previous shows. – John Del Signore

MOVIE: BAM has been presenting "The Cinematography of Ed Lachman" this month, with screenings of all his films. Tonight catch the big screen adaptation of Brett Easton Ellis’ novel Less Than Zero, in which Lachman "creates and sustains an atmosphere of artifice with unnatural lighting and glossy textures as the film follows its materialistic characters." See the full schedule here.
6:50 and 9:15 p.m. // BAM [30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn] // $11
MUSIC: If the sold out Kanye show isn't the cards for you this week, check out night one of three-night Search & Restore series at Knit. Tonight features sets by Jean-Michel Pilc Trio (with Francois Moutin and Billy Hart) and The New Mellow Edwards (Curtis Hasselbring, Tony Malaby, John Hollenbeck, and Trevor Dunn). The jazz series hopes to return what was lost when venues like Tonic shut down, so come support it!
7:30 p.m. // Knitting Factory Tap Bar [74 Leonard St] // $13
EVENT: William Shatner, who has spanned the small screen from Star Trek to Priceline ads, will be at the 92 St Y tonight. His new memoir (due out tomorrow) is called Up Till Now: The Autobiography, and covers the 77 years of his life so far. In it "he recounts the ups and downs, the surprises, disappointments and delights of his career, which shows no signs of slowing down." He'll be signing books after the event, and who knows -- maybe he'll sing a tune, too.
7:30 p.m. // 92nd St Y [1395 Lexington Ave] // $30

The Kanye show is not tonight, it's tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up on the BAM/Lachmann screenings!
