I had Nathan's hotdog before ... I was not impressed. Is it really 100% meat or something else like 50% lard or some sort of petroleum-based product?

I saw these signs the weekend before. A large chili cheese fries was about 1600 calories as I recall, but this wasn't remarkably higher than the plain fries. Since I have the floor - Nathan's! Stop putting the Corn on the Cob in those Styrofoam™ sarcophagi! They take up too much space in the bag, and they're so damn bad for the planet! A hot dog box or even just wrapping them in paper will suffice.

I feel like a nerd saying this but my buddy's engaged to someone involved with the eating competition, anyway, he hung out with Joey post-66 and Chestnut held them down from the end of the competition through about 11 pm. Infact, they even went to dinner and Chestnut ate a little there as well.

I don't believe so #2. Definitely not during or immediately post competition, because that risks disqualification. Whether they go purging a few hours afterwards I'm unsure, but I believe they keep it all in.

Nathan's original frankfurters can definitely damage one's waistline--I googled the nutritional values: one Nathan's hot dog (free of condiments) has 20.1 grams of fat, or 31% of daily value for a 2000 calorie diet. Further, it has 7.8 grams of saturated fat, for 39% of daily value. Sodium clocks in at 684 milligrams, for 29% of daily value. I expected the values to be up there, but these are shocking for a tiny hot dog.

$3.65 for a hot dog is a bit much isn't it? It's not Yankee stadium. 66 plain hot dogs would cost $194.70 plus tax. That's pretty high cost eating for 12 minutes. And that's without wine or a desert. Plus tip.

Man, I can remember when you couldn't get any of that stuff on a hot dog from the Nathan's in Coney Island. Even sauerkraut was off-limits, just onions.
