- A freelance cameraman for WPIX Channel 11 was struck by a car on Chambers and Centre Sts. while heading to a press conference at One Police Plaza.
- Recent NYC transplant Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain, was spotted backstage at the Garden during last week's My Chemical Romance show.
- WTC delays and bungling mean that investment bank Goldman Sachs will receive 64 years in free rent and tax abatements worth a combined $321 million. When the solid gold bank agreed to build its new HQ downtown, the contract included draconian penalties against taxpayers if the City couldn't stay on schedule.
- Former NJ governor James McGreevey will be first to testify in his divorce proceedings, as the AP reports that "talks with his estranged wife broke down, dashing hopes that New Jersey's former first couple could avoid the spectacle of a messy public trial." If it hasn't reached messy yet, the future should be interesting.
- In a form of reverse police gun buy-back program, a former Queens cop admitted that he stole guns from the department's evidence room and sold them on the street for cash.
- The FBI is investigating the disappearance of a woman from the cruise ship Norwegian Dawn, which was on its way from NYC to Bermuda.
