Apollo Braun Designs "Jews Against Obama" T-shirt

0805apolla.jpgOrchard Street designer Doron Braunshtein (aka Apollo Braun, pictured) is at it again; in March he launched his "Who Killed Obama?" t-shirt and now he's added a new political statement to his line: the $250 "Jews Against Obama" t-shirt.

And that's not the only provocation: Braunshtein also started what he calls a "political movement" as a cute, must-have accessory to the T. His recruitment efforts have gone through his mailing list, Facebook and Myspace.

As with his last design, he explains that he's "selling an idea" that will one day hang "in the greatest museums and galleries in the city." He also wants you all to know how he really feels about Obama, in case it wasn't clear:

"I am a true anti-Obama New York Jew. The word on the street is that New York Jews will vote for McCain anyhow. The majority of the Jews – at least the ones that are proud of their religion and practice it – like me, don't want to see Obama – a man who's middle name is Hussein, and his family from his Kenyan father's side is Muslim, as the leader of this great country.

More than that, after Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright honored Louis Farrakhan – definitely one of the most racist and anti-Semitic people alive – Obama lost us Jews totally. That made me start this political movement in the first place."

In March, the NY Post quoted Brooklyn Assemblyman Dov Hikind's prediction that Jewish voters would be making "a mass movement toward Sen. McCain" should Clinton lose the nomination.

UPDATE: After the jump, Jennifer Krause, rabbi and author of The Answer: Making Sense of Life, One Question at a Time, gives us her opinion on Braun's shirt.

If making sweeping generalizations is museum-worthy, Mr. Braunshtein/Braun stands an excellent chance of his Obama t's being immortalized, but probably not beside a Warhol. His "Jews Against Obama" t-shirt is frighteningly reminiscent of the posters one sees in exhibits devoted to the worst kinds of intolerance that have lumped "Jews," "blacks," and "gays" into monolithic groups distinguishable to others only by their religion, skin color, or sexual orientation.

If there is one thing inherited Jewish wisdom demonstrates, whether it be in pages of passionate talmudic discourse or in current public debates on a multiplicity of issues, it is that there is no group-think among Jewish people. Jewish people come from different cultures, different lands, different schools of intellectual thought, and different socio-economic backgrounds. That is why some will vote for Senator McCain, why some already have voted in primary elections for Senator Clinton, and why some proud, principled Jews also will cast their votes for Senator Obama should he be the democratic nominee in November.

As a deeply committed Jew and a proud, engaged American, the last thing I want to see is my religion associated with the kind of base, xenophobic attitude that rules out a candidate because his middle name is "Hussein" and questions his patriotism because his father was a Muslim. Signs all across the Jim Crow South used to read "No N****rs, No Jews, No Dogs." Would you pay $250 for one of those?

The Secret Service must have quite a list already of people to keep an eye on for when BO becomes President.

this NY Jew thinks that Doron Braunshtein is a schmuck.
and anyone who would pay $250 for a t-shirt, let alone a stupid one, deserves to loose their money.

shalom

here's another reason to vote for obama.

oh these silly believers of fairy tales & religion make me laugh every time! can such a dumb ass really be considered a provocative artist?

hipster douchebag.

does he really think the interests of jews are going to be served better by a third term of george bush?

user-pic

*The Secret Service must have quite a list already of people to keep an eye on for when BO becomes President.*

If someone threatened a president back in 43' or 57' or 65' or anytime, they're still on the list... the list never goes away. Obama's list will be long and his security will be the tightest ever.

Sadly, there's no true great candidate. Obama has no experience and McCain is too old and a most importantly, a republican. We must not vote a republican into the office... mainly because of the Supreme Court appointments.

Doron... Apollo... whatever: STFU. Self-important schmucks like you give all the Jews a bad name. You're selling schmottas, and not very good ones, at that.

Doron Braunshtein (aka Apollo Braun): What a moron!

Fundamentalism form ANY FKN RELIGION is what has this world submerged in wars. MORON!

Great, another asshole giving the rest of us Jews a bad name.

Rather than judging a candidate's Jew-friendliness (whatever that means) by his middle name or the comments of his estranged pastor, why not some up some real criteria and see how he measures up.

Instead, just more racist, anti-Muslim nonsense.

If i had time today, i would photoshop the shirt to say what he really means...
"douchebag against Obama"

A man whose middle name is Hussein. Apparently one can be guilty of being anti-Semitic, but not of being anti-Muslims (and still believe in equality and fairness?!). In great museums and galleries one day, I hope to see acknowledgement of great injustice done to thousands of innocent Muslims, whether by their own, or by others. It does not matter who. And where is the "design" in this design? The typography's crap. In one minute, I aim to forget this dude's name.

I'm a jew for Obama.

Nothing more against Judaism as reactionary racist, islamaphobic, jack-ass-ery.

Idiot, and bad typography at that. What is this guy's problem?

On another note, I'm afraid I'm getting 2004 deja vu, when all of us New Yorkers were sooooo confident that Bush couldn't possibly be voted in for another four years, and all these stupid statistics about how Kerry was going to take it. Surprise! I never underestimate the fact that the rest of the country do not have the same political views that New Yorkers do, and our arrogance is often our own undoing.

Why is Gothamist giving this ignorant bigot a platform?

$250.00 for a lousy t-shirt?

What an a-hole!

Well then I suggest Doron do a little research on who McCain's spiritual advisor is... I'm sure they would agree on a few things.

http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/38133-mccain-s-spiritual-guide-wants-america-to-destroy-islam?utm_source=rgemail

maybe he'll use the money to do something about that hideous mullet.

christ.

this racist bullshit makes me want to vote for obama despite the fact he stands, like all major-party presidential candidates, for the status quo.

user-pic

Why are you giving this idiot fuckhead face time?

Is someone on the staff sucking his dick or something?

Perhaps Gothamist is exposing his idiocy.

I wouldn't claim myself to be an artist...but I am happy with my first 'official' piece. Apollo decided he would switch t-shirts for the second round of his photo shoots and keep that same arrogant look on his face. Here was the second photo that they didn't show. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26506439@N04/

Truth in Decmocracy

Even douches gotta make their scratch, no?

For some people, hints of the inevitable post-ironic era is too much to bear.

This t-shirt's business plan speaks louder than outrage.

I'm a Jew for Obama, and I know many, many others who are, too.

I don't think this racist, xenophobic hipster needs to be given a platform for his stupid t-shirts.

Woa gothamist you have sunk to new lows, this is worse than the Toyota laden maroon "around town" write-ups.

Actually, it was his Indonesian STEP father Lolo Soetoro that was Barack's Muslim influence, his Kenyan stepfather was an atheist. At least get your facts right. I happen to think that having that background is useful for engaging the Muslim world; a stark contrast to Bush's complete ignorance of the culture of that region. This guy is as big a hipster douche bag as all the retards on the street wearing Keffiyeh because they saw it in Vice magazine.

why the f*ck are you promoting this assh*le

pretty sleazy tabloid junk, gothamist

how does writting a few words in plain font warrant "design".

what a douche.

too bad that so-called 'mass-movement' over to mccain will not matter. obama will win new york and california, and you are crazy to think otherwise.

$250 for a t-shirt anyone could make for $15 or less?

Anyone who buys this should be driven out to the desert and left for coyote food.

Moron Braunshtein, more like! What a closed-minded poser.

"The majority of the Jews – at least the ones that are proud of their religion and practice it – like me..."

Classic weak-argument-bolstering technique... 'and everybody else I talk to agrees with me!'

Fortunately, this Jew's never had the 'pleasure.'

P.S. Nice meshugamullet!

Concerns about his middle name and his Muslim influence are invalid. I don't think concern about staying with an obviously radical preacher for 20 years and no one seeming to care now are, but unfortunately that valid concern got lost in the invalid one.

$250 seems rather a lot for a Haines T shirt with some crappy type on it. Does he also sell 2" buttons for $50? Hats for $125? Socks, belts, underwear, sandals, wine?

Is it me or Does he attempt to resemble the Zohan??

Yeah, great, another fool giving both Jews and artists a bad name. This talentless hack needs a history lesson: Jews and Muslims are not historic enemies. The Ottoman Turks saved Jews when they were kicked out of Spain, welcoming them into their lands and making them part of their culture. And Jews have always lived in the Muslim world, in Persian, Arabic, and Turkic countries. We are historical siblings. Siblings sometimes fight.

Ha, I love his notion that his work will one day "hang in the greatest museums and galleries in the city". Classic. I think I met ten of this halfwit in art school.

If he's so proud of his Jewish heritage why is his "artist" name taken from a Greek god?

Flaunting his stupidity.

@TreesForTheForest, maybe he named himself for Apollo Creed, who himself was quite the showman, wanting to beat an "Eye-talian" on the nation's holiday.

user-pic

That shirt should cost $9 at Cafepress.

At first I was going to vote for the psycho over the black - but since the jew doesn't like the black, I think I'll vote for the black.

It appears there is a huge rift in the Liberal-Hipster-Blipster-Muppie-Yuppie-Trendoid-Articist political monolith. What is going on, whats with the big D's that always used to goose step together all the way to the DNC ??? Eating each others brains out ??? What a waste.

user-pic

On Facebook there are two "Jews Against Obama" groups, if you have a moment to request that they be disabled it seems worth the effort.

You know that the majority of jews would never vote for Obama, The majority of Mexicans would not vote for Obama. The majority of asians would never vote for Obama and proably half of whites would not vote for Obama. Obama's got 91% of the blind black vote and probably 70% of the idealist college kid vote and 55% of the white democratic vote. That's it. He's not going to win over midwesterners, or old people. Many minorities don't vote in primaries and they just come out during the general election. You will see a huge swell of minorities that are not black not voting for Obama come november. I'm voting for Obama just cause I'm following my democratic screed. but if he doesn't win, it'll be fucking funny how all these obama thumping people will be deflated. Democrats don't realize that Midwesterners will never vote for anyone except a white guy who is christian. If they found out jesus was black, they would become atheists. midwest republicans outweigh democrats 2 to 1. Why do you think the church is against abortion? it's cause they lose young impressionable children who will become a powerful voting bloc come november. It's simple math. The church says abortion is bad. Conservative christians don't use birth control. they have 2-4 kids. those kids turn into adult conservative christians who in turn have 2-4 kids. those numbers increase. Liberal democrats use birth control and have abortions. they divorce more easily. for every democrat you have living in a big city you have 4-8 republicans living in the rural counties. All the Liberals live in NY or California. they refuse to move to the midwest. so if you are a liberal living in NY your vote doesn't really count cause it's like adding water to a full reservoir already. it's pointless. If liberals really wanted Obama to win, they'd move to kansas and register there. but they don't. They just feed this bullshit about "progress" and preach to the choir.

This is one Jew who will be voting for Obama------>>>

However, that meshuganah T-shirt guy has a goyishe kup. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

man.... i hate days where i agree with babyhitler.

if obama picks up hillary, it's a win for the dems.

Do most Christians realize that Jesus wasn't Christian but Jewish? Also as a side note he was not Italian as some are led to believe.

"He's not going to win over midwesterners..."

Depends on how you define Midwest.. using the most liberal definition:
ND - Obama
SD - Likely Obama
NB - Obama
KS - Obama
MN - Obama
IA - Obama
MO - Obama (by a nose)
WI - Obama
IL - Obama
MI - No vote this year
IN - Clinton
OH - Clinton
KY - Likely Clinton
WV - Likely Clinton

Babyhitler might just be right - but I'm voting for the black with big ears because Paul Volker is advising him on the economy, which is good. And Ron Paul seems to like his foreign policy, which is also good.

Too bad Obama doesn't agree with Pat Buchanan on foreigners in this country - or I would feel very good supporting him.

Babyhitler, I thought the catholic church was against abortion because it denies them access to millions of other little boys.

You can insult this guy all you want, you know you're just feeding into his ego. The more plebeians (in his opinion) he pisses off, the better his thinks his "art" is.

I think I know what will really piss him off. I'm gonna go down to the T-Shirt shop, print up some shirts just like his and sell them for $7 directly outside his shop.

Ok, babyhitler, where does all this knowledge of the Midwest and minorities come from? I grew up in the midwest, went to college in the south, and now I live in NYC. While I agree that NYC and Cali liberals are a little too much their own asses, drinking espressos and agreeing with each others politics. But to think that its only people in those areas that will vote for Obama in the general election is false.

Remember in 2004, there were several states that Kerry just barely lost, by 3 or 4 percentage points. Some of those southern states have high black populations who are going to be much more motivated to turn out this time around to vote, now that they feel like they might actually be represented this time around.

All I have to say is, wait for the debates. Its going to be Nixon-JFK all over again. McCain looks very much his 72 years, mumbling and repeating himself when he goes off script, that against Obama's eloquence and youth, and you'll see a nice bump in Obama's numbers after the debates.

I'm disappointed to see a douchebag like this promoted on Gothamist. Putting religion in front of American citizenry and/or politics should be a crime. I'd like to kick this guy in the nuts just for being a total moron.

#49 - are you daft? that's a democratic primary. When you put Mccain in the mix versus Obama come november I guarantee 90% of those states will check McCain. The liberals weakness is that they can't see through republican eyes and thinks everyone should think like them just like the repubs. You have to think like a republican to win. For example, Conservatives hate gays but they love Clay Aiken who's fruitier than a fruit loop. Why is this? Cuase, he doesn't say he's gay. You've got to compensate for their illogic. You think the republicans in those states will vote for Obama cause their kids are dead in the war and they are jobless? they voted in Bush for a 2nd term and they'd cut off their noses to spite you, regardless.

This dbag should NOT be making headlines. Ignore him until he gets bored and goes away.

A person makes enough comments and you're bound to agree with him at some point. babyhitler is that person and this is one of those days.

Guess I should play the lottery too, speaking of unlikely scenarios.

I have been unfortunately subjected to hearing and reading the illogic of many Midwesterners who are certainly representative of that area of the country. Obama could win if they stayed home. That's about as likely as Al Sharpton and Pat Buchanan deciding to get real jobs.

baby - I understand that they are primary results, but your assertion was not about a matchup vs. McCain. You said "he's not going to win over midwesterners". I think that is simply incorrect based on the primary results, where many midwesterners chose Obama over Clinton (or others in Iowa). If you really meant "he's not going to win over midwestern conservatives", then you should have written that in the first place.

i wonder if his store is closed on saturdays since you know, hes a practicing, faithful jew.

and if i were a jew, i wouldnt buy his shirts cause his last name is braun, which is the same as hitlers wife.

People overestimate the number of Jews in the electorate. They're only around 2 percent of the population and they're mostly concentrated in blue states anyway like NY and CA. They could be a deciding swing vote in a state like Florida maybe.

Regardless, people are ready for change:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/12/AR2008051201073.html?nav=hcmodule

anbody with an IQ > 65 is against Obama & Jews & Hillary & McCain

But it is a mistake to conflate his African identity with his Muslim heritage. Senator Obama is half African by birth and Africans can understandably identify with him. In Islam, however, there is no such thing as a half-Muslim. Like all monotheistic religions, Islam is an exclusive faith.

As the son of the Muslim father, Senator Obama was born a Muslim under Muslim law as it is universally understood. It makes no difference that, as Senator Obama has written, his father said he renounced his religion. Likewise, under Muslim law based on the Koran his mother’s Christian background is irrelevant.

With few exceptions, the jurists of all Sunni and Shiite schools prescribe execution for all adults who leave the faith not under duress; the recommended punishment is beheading at the hands of a cleric, although in recent years there have been both stonings and hangings. (Some may point to cases in which lesser punishments were ordered — as with some Egyptian intellectuals who have been punished for writings that were construed as apostasy — but those were really instances of supposed heresy, not explicitly declared apostasy as in Senator Obama’s case.
Because no government is likely to allow the prosecution of a President Obama — not even those of Iran and Saudi Arabia, the only two countries where Islamic religious courts dominate over secular law — another provision of Muslim law is perhaps more relevant: it prohibits punishment for any Muslim who kills any apostate, and effectively prohibits interference with such a killing.

At the very least, that would complicate the security planning of state visits by President Obama to Muslim countries, because the very act of protecting him would be sinful for Islamic security guards. More broadly, most citizens of the Islamic world would be horrified by the fact of Senator Obama’s conversion to Christianity once it became widely known — as it would, no doubt, should he win the White House. This would compromise the ability of governments in Muslim nations to cooperate with the United States in the fight against terrorism, as well as American efforts to export democracy and human rights abroad.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/12/opinion/12luttwak.html

Ihate? What if we kill all Muslims, blacks and Jews? That would get rid of the possibility of having problems in the future with Obama being president, wouldn't it?

Braun = useless, talentless dweeb.
Irrelevant, misguided, inflated sense of (it's not there) self worth. In a year he'll be serving you your Sushi (lower level joint, couldn't cut it at the higher end places).
Ignore the dink.
And #63, IHAB, if you're going to cite please use quotes & attribution. Even anarchists should respect proper literary style. And both the NY Times writer and yourself show really stupid arguments. If Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Condi, not ot mention Hillary, who should basically run for the Knesset as Schumer's Zionist tool instead of the US presidency haven't been beheaded, I think the black guy is pretty much safe in that respect. They all suck, but rejecting one for such spurious reasoning in probably one of the reasons everybody being able to vote or serve on a jury is such an imperfect concept.

But hey, what else have we got?

Dadoc

$250 for that piece of crap shirt? Let alone the actual saying on it, but $250 for that shirt? My God, the man is delusional. Perhaps he owes his mom back rent on that basement apartment that's shown in the background. His mom is going to be so mad when she sees that he glued all that junk onto the walls.

i think it was pretty obvious that i pasted choice quotes and linked the nytimes article,
i never said i was any god dam J. Jonah Jameson!

i think both obama & hillary are elitist tools,
voters who wont vote for a woman, check
voters who wont vote for a black, check
voters who wont vote for anyone who sounds muslimy, check check
voters who wont vote for anybody associated with bill clinton, yup,

now the shoe-in is war traitor mccain, the warmonger who will only perpetuate the gwb war fantasies of bringing armageddon & rapture at the expense of sacrificing the rest of us

$250 doesn't seem so exorbitant, considering prices designer t-shirts at Barneys. ;-) Moron Doron thinks he's arrived finally.

Jewish people will vote for Obamessiah in November anyway. Obama could announce he's going to herd all American Jews into camps and Jews would still vote for him because he's the Democrat candidate. Never mind, he got a near endorsement from a leader of Hamas (“We like Mr. Obama and we hope that he will win the election") & referred to Israel as "this constant wound, this constant sore, that does infect all of our foreign policy". (Any readers of The Atlantic here?)

He'll never be ready for prime time. Changiness & Hopitude will have to wait.

I hope this miserable prick is wearing one of his shitty t shirts as his AIDS medications begin to fail and that swagger becomes a slow, painful stagger to the toilet.

Does it come in other colors? I could use an XL in black with black lettering.

Why are so many Obama supporters calling someone a faggot? This is change?

IHAB, twasn't obvious to me until I checked the link. No biggy, just put in italics, different font, quotes, someting. Keeps things clear, and helps folks avoid atrrib'ing good/bad stuff toward the poster.
And yeah, ain't it a kick in the butt that the election will likely be decided on the negative biases on the group people WON'T vote for?
Can't vote (partly) black, can't vote for anyone without a Y-chromosome, Can't vote if you don't like their pastor (or other theist conjuror/priest/rabbi/shaman/spirit advisor). And the vote, by default goes to:
The old guy who's pandering to everybody, has a Y-chrom, has no black blood, no possible Muslim ties, managed to get captured in a war.

Whew, It's just a bad American bias resulting in the likely vote for the non-negative bias. Maybe if Hil or OB did a stint on Survivor, Dancing with the Stars, or American Idol would people pay attention.

But like I said, what else have we got?

Dadoc

I am voting for Obama how many times does he have to
apologize for his past BS to make the Jewish community stop this propaganda against him.
One should have learned what hate does from the
Nazi's this is the same stuff.
Obama has said he supports Israel.
Jews have to forgive and forget the Rev.Wright
fiasco.
I guess you would rather have McCain-Bush- Saudi
Arabia lover win???

And I don't think an association with Bill C. (except for his recent strident BS) is a negative. I think we have all come to accept him as a kinda "Uncle Buck" character, kinda endearing, fulla faults, etc. But his wife IS THE ANTICHRIST. Just kidding, but she is an evil being, and is Armageddon in a pantssuit.

And c'mon, admit it. If you were in the big house, you wouldn't take a hummer from some beltway hussie?

How has no one punched this d-bag in the face?

and now the sites start rolling in - check out these AMAZING replicas

and the site that spawned it - an anti-anti-Obama site

Doron's obnoxious posturing is not going to play too well beyond the JDL and some near-postal paranoids. How about some real debates on issues not fear mongering?

But to respond to IHateallbrokers regarding Obama's supposed Apostasy: you only refer to the most extreme (and incorrect) interpretations of Islam, not the mainstream views (see Jamal Badawi's article in Islamic Horizons Feb 08)--anyway this does does not fit his situation and is a red herring. Obama-haters like to allege that crazed Muslims will kill him for apostasy; and then, recognizing no contradition, also allege that Hamas supports him when some idiot Hamaster makes a statement. Come on you all let's get real!

i love it. you guys are chastising this guy for doing this, yet I bet most of you goofy liberals praised the guy who put elephant crap on a picture of the virgin mary and called it "art".

You're all pretty self-serving if ya ask me.

As for his political views...I gotta say, i agree with the guy.

Not so much about the Muslim thing, since Obama is not actually a Muslim.

But there's an old saying in Russian..."tell me who your friends are, and i'll tell you who you are."

This guy associated himself with a dude like Rev.Wright...not just associated but sat in the pews for over 20 years and was mentored by him. Has his kids baptized by him and married Obama and his wife.

I'm sorry...but as a Jew...that's scary to me.

and then this guy goes on to say that both Hamas and Hezbollah have "legitimate claims".

so basically...according to him, obliterating Israel (which is explicitly stated in the Hamas charter),is a legitimate claim.

He also wants to negotiate Jerusalem.

sorry...don't want a guy like that in the White House.

I can't understand why some of you native-born American Jews are blindly loyal to the Democratic party...no matter who's running for office.

this isn't the same Democratic party of the 60s, 70s or even 80s.

Get over it already. It's time to wake up.

From the perspective of a American WASP, I must say that these extremist Israeli's are really pushing their luck. My sympathy for the Jewish plight is waning.

A zionist is a racist movement just like any right religious nut, but he seems to be protected by AIPAC and other nuts that have no business in U.S. politics or this country. If they want to kill palestinians and act like fascists they shouldnt get 6 billion of welfare foreign policy money. This guy is no doubt an art student Israeli agent provateur. He needs to leave the country and GET out of our elections.Where do you think that 65 to 200 bucks goes to?? Building more illegal settlements in Palestinian land. He is a REAL racist

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish t-shirts. Unoriginal, childish provocation for the sake of provocation. This guy is an attention seeking money grabber pure and simple, with zero political sensibility pandering to the lowest common denominator. He can't spell either (check his site). Also his website is very poorly designed.
I agree with a previous poster that this guy does not deserve the oxygen of publicity. And the prices they charge are seemingly random and consistently and exceptionally excessive.
At least these t-shirts have actually had some thought put into them and are not just offensive for the sake of being offensive.

It's no wonder that I have not heard of this "artist" until I just happened to be surfing the net in search for t-shirts donning the Superman or Aquaman logo. I might very well pay a pretty penny for those but this guy; He's a complete joke. Thank God for countries where idiots are allowed a voice and the right to capitalize hand over fist. After all; idiots are people too and they are free to call themselves artists when in fact they are just slightly (and in this case I do mean slightly) creative capitalists. It's quite obvious how much conviction this moron has for his cause since he makes sure that his t-shirts are not accessible to "the masses" by charging a mere $250.00 for them. I doubt that anything he does is for "the people" and the sake of art. I am convinced even further that his convictions are motivated by the dwindling American dollars which he is forced to scrape into a mound in order to occupy such prime NYC Real Estate. He should have taken this "act" to London or Paris where his "bravery" might have been met quite easily with a swift kick to the head or the cracking of his pelvic bone. I would be more impressed if the proceeds from his comedy routine were granted to such a cause as "Simpletons For The Ethical Treatment Of Assholes" but not even that group would endorse his shinanigans. This is a clear display of a guy making a desperate effort to pay his rent in Manhattan's Lower east Side before he is evicted and his shop becomes a Mc Donalds or Starbucks Coffee shop. Apollo Braun (which is a very Jewish name by the way)is simply a fruad and a failed attempt at capturing any significant media attention (Google Chris Crocker...he's a lot more fun...younger, prettier, talented and more clever than this queer duck). The motivation that drives me to even leave this message is the same motivation that drives me into the "Rambles" late at night to be sucked off by self absorbed egoists (like this jester -Apollo Creed...I mean Apollo Braun) that secretly desire to bow before me and call me "big black daddy" until I shoot them in the eye with fiery man juice. In the words of the quite funny comedian Martin Lawrence I will say "Apollo Braun...You so crazy."

So allegedly I'm this guy's e-mails list now. And it seems as the FBI is giving him flak now too

Here's something I received yesterday from this "designer"

{{{{
The "Who Killed Obama?" line of sweatshirts and t-shirts, which was first created in March 2008, is gaining more popularity than ever now that Barack Obama has been elected president. Pop artist and fashion designer Doron Braunshtein, AKA Apollo Braun, who created this line, stopped selling it in his boutique in May 2008 after three members of the FBI visited his boutique at 193 Orchard Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side and ordered him to stop creating and selling those t-shirts, or he would be arrested. But the designer, who considers himself "very avante-garde, punk-rock, and rebellious" got many orders from customers (some of whom are, by the way, Obama supporters) and decided to move forward by creating another 300 pieces from this line. Apollo Braun says, "If I can't say on a t-shirt, 'Who Killed Obama?', tomorrow, someone will say to me that I can't say on a t-shirt, 'Britney Spears is Beautiful.' It is not about Obama at all. It is about freedom of speech. We should say whatever we want. This is a free country. I am not saying 'Kill Obama' I am only saying, 'Who Killed Obama?' And yes, you may say that I am predicting the near future." Braun also admits that he is very ambivalent about this line. "I am still not sure if this is the best pop art creation I have ever made, or if it is the worst pop art creation I have ever made. But one thing is certain, it is definitely one pop creation that asks a lot of questions and evokes a lot of emotions in people, and I truly believe that this is the main essence of art: to evoke, to be thought-provoking, and to always break taboos. If I wouldn't do it, as an artist, who will?"

*Attached is a picture of Apollo Braun wearing the "Who Killed Obama?" sweatshirt. The sweatshirt sells for $150 and the t-shirt for $85 at his boutique. ("We are living in very tough times," says the designer, "So in a way, you can say that my 'Who Killed Obama?' fashion line keeps me in business. I need to eat. I need to pay rent. Can anyone blame me for being creative?")

*Apollo Braun can be directly reached at 212-726-8075 or by email at apollomusik@yahoo.com

To #17 Yoplay, Nice try but if you're talking about Hagge, McCain was never a member of his church! So what do you idiot supporters of Obama think of him now!? Do support the communist style take over all the industries! Hugo Chevez said just recently that Obama is so left wing that he makes both Chevez himself and Castro look like conservatives!
Do you support Obama's recent claim that Iran has the right to nuclear power! Funny how Obama feels that way when it comes to Iran, but he doesn't think that the US is entitled to have nuclear power!!

To #35, you need a good history lesson! The Muslims and Jews have been enemies since the 8th century! Ever heard of the Jewish Nabka!? For several centuries the Muslims murdered, persecuted, exspelled and confiscated Jews properties in Muslim Countries going back as far as the 700's AD! Jewish communities in countries in the Middle East were wiped out by them! Do some research on it!
