Former Law & Order Actor Tried to Fly with Gun

2008_05_dennisf.jpgDennis Farina, two seasons as Detective Joe Fontana on Law & Order, was arrested at LAX Airport when security found a loaded .22-caliber pistol in his briefcase. Oops!

TMZ reports that Farina "was apologetic and cooperative" when he explained he had the "gun in his briefcase when he drove from Arizona to L.A. and forgot it was there." Farina also added he was a veteran of the Chicago police force, but that wasn't enough, because the gun was not registered. Farina was charged with felony gun possession and is still in custody while held on $25,000 bail.

Farina has put his stamp on tough guy roles, whether on the right side of the law--as a police lieutenant in Crime Story--or the wrong--playing a Jersey mobster in Get Shorty. If you were to guess which former or current Law & Order actor would carry a gun, it'd be Farina or maybe Fred Thompson.

a freakin bum... a great example of the scum that carry guns for no apparent reason other than the jollies they get from seeing a child accidentally find it and accidentally shoot themselves.

Sounds like you could use a few more guns in your life.

reminds me of his character from "Snatch"...

No sympathy for a dumbass move like that, he needs some time out in the can.

Owning and possessing a gun is an inalienable right which long preceeds our Constitution where law enforcement firearms instructors, AND their instructors, know that the most important single thing that American citizens can do in their entire life is to protect the Second Amendment as it means exactly what it says and it is our Bill of Rights only strength.

Accidents occur with these tools, as that is all that firearms are, by people who have not taken the necessary precautions for the age of the child. These accidents occur far less than any other tool, pool, bike, sports, fire or anything else we see in everyday life.

Therefore, snivelers whimpering from despicable fear of an inanimate object are at some level below worthless for a human being, let alone an American. Further, the excuse of having pitiful parents who denied their children a proper upbringing is no longer valid as the internet holds the facts of this issue in what they need to know in becoming loyal assets to the United States of America.

Additionally, to those few deprived idiots who can watch a massacre of students on campus or a mall and not instantly realize that the intended victims deserve every right to defend themselves in having the chance to deny the evil or insane to take their life in cold blood then, the mental midgets have a severe reasoning disability and are rightly considered a danger to themselves and anyone else.

Anything to declare? Yeah, don't got to England.

@ #5:

WTF? Get over yourself.

Dennis Farina is so Chicago tough guy, I woulda let him go ahead and board. Who cares about a .22 anyway?

Thank god they stopped him before he tried to hijack the plane!

"a great example of the scum that carry guns for no apparent reason"

His years as a cop in Chicago?
His American citizenship? (See Bill of Rights)

Those are two good reasons.

Winghunter & CR win this thread!!

What an idiot.

[insert Punisher logo here]

A guy who can memorize scripts, can't remember he has a loaded gun in his suitcase?
