Bush Calls Daughter Jenna's Wedding "Spectacular"

Yesterday afternoon, President Bush's daughter Jenna was married in a sunset ceremony at the "Western White House" in Crawford, Texas. Her groom, Henry Hager, is from a "well-connected" Virginia family and had worked for Karl Rove.

Bush told reporters today, "The wedding was spectacular. It was all we could have hoped for. We're mighty blessed." The White House released a few photographs and few details (it did confirm there were over 200 guests). It's unclear whether Bush's practice of the "father of bride" walk--he demonstrated his walk to the press (photograph in gallery) to reporters on Thursday--paid off.

While the wedding was very private, the town of Crawford celebrated in its own way, by creating commemorative mugs, mousepads, and more. The bridal industry, though, is eager for any details of the wedding (Jenna's Oscar de la Renta gown, her bridesmaids' Lela Rose dresses, etc.), to give brides-to-be more ideas--casual Texas bridal chic, anyone?.

And here's a 2008 election year twist: The wedding's officiant--and Bush's religious adviser-- Reverend Kirbyjon Caldwell has endorsed Barack Obama.
