When most of your friends live in Manhattan, when most of the places you want to go to are located in Manhattan, when your job/industry contacts are located in Manhattan, does it make sense to live in Brooklyn ? Park Slope & probably other Brooklyn neighborhoods have reached their peak. Expect more former Manhattan residents to move back across the East River. Now, I'm Brooklyn Heights native, so I'm happy here with my "sleep here, work/play in Manhattan" routine but many former Manhattan residents I've met can't adopt my routine. It's too inconvenient for them.

Why would anyone leave Park Slope to move to Tribeca? Big question... easy answer. After achieving success one would not want to live in a Brooklyn version of the upper west side.
