Last Night's Action: A Laugher

- Mets 12 Los Angeles 1: The Mets ended their trip out West with a laugher. John Maine almost went the distance before tiring in the ninth, but he allowed only four hits and one run during the game. Maine also helped himself with the bat, driving in two runs and New York pounded out 13 hits overall. Every starter except for Jose Reyes had at least a hit and Ryan Church had a 3-for-4 game with his sixth home run of the year.
- Cleveland 3 Yankees 0: It was almost 20 years to the day the last time that two pitchers 5-0 or better faced each other and that was the matchup Wednesday in the Bronx. Cliff Lee outdueled Chien-Ming Wang, scattering six hits while not issuing a walk. Wang pitched well enough to win, but Cleveland managed three runs off of him over three different innings. The Yankees are back under .500 and will attempt to avoid the sweep this afternoon.
