<description>&lt;p&gt;60% of Ikea hires are from Red Hook?  That is a made-up number from Ray Hall of Red Hook Rise, who has been a supporter of Ikea since the beginning.  The company refuses to release any numbers.

Rather than agree to hire a certain number of local residents, Ikea gave residents a head-start on the application period... and then just waited a few weeks and put them in with the rest of the applicants.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
