Siren Fest Lineup Announced!

0805sirenfest.jpgEvery year we're drawn to the Coney Island shoreline by the sirens...or at least, The Village Voice Siren Festival. This year they seem a bit more on top of things, announcing their initial lineup today -- a full two months before the show!

This year's fest, their 8th, is being held on July 19th and promises some big names (drum roll please):

STEPHEN MALKMUS AND THE JICKS, BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE,

THE HELIO SEQUENCE, BEACH HOUSE, TIMES NEW VIKING,

JAGUAR LOVE, THE DODOS, ANNUALS, FILM SCHOOL,

PARTS & LABOR, DRAGONS OF ZYNTH, THESE ARE POWERS

and more to be announced!

Other than the names, not much else has changed (unusual when Coney Island is involved); the show will be held from noon to 9 p.m. at the same location, and is free for all.

This year's poster artwork, by the usual artist Paul Antonson, looks a little foreboding, no?

Great lineup, KILLER poster!..Best one yet..

i love the artwork - A+.

Should be noted that The Voice is notorious for ripping off their artists. Case in point: The Siren Fest continues to market an event using the distinctive "three-faced" style of the original poster artist "FLY".
