Clash of the Weather Titans Starts Tomorrow

When Gothamist glanced at the current weather map above we said "look, the Bermuda High" has arrived. It must be summer." Upon closer examination we see that this high is a temporary visitor, an imposter, and not the summer fixture. Nonetheless, an anticyclone is an anticyclone and this one will keep the city warm and sunny today. Expect highs in the upper-70s.

Tonight an irresistible force (a cold front) will meet up with an immovable object (the fake Bermuda High). The result promises to be a two-day stalemate as the combatants wait for something stronger to kick their respective butts. Tomorrow will likely see a few showers and perhaps a thunderstorm. Rain could be intense within the thunderstorm. It should be slightly cooler with a high around 75 and there should be less tree pollen floating around.

Friday is looking cool and wet. A low pressure system is going to travel eastward along the stalled cold front, most likely kicking off lots of rain and pushing the stalled front and high away from the area. With all the clouds and rain the high will only reach 60. If that takes place as expected Saturday should be a beautiful sunny and 70 degree day.
