The New York Rangers Sean Avery was released from the hospital yesterday, just in time to attend the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala tonight! He'll be there as a guest of Vogue, where he is set to begin an editorial internship this week.

Avery's lacerated spleen, covered up by a dapper Alexander McQueen suit, is nothing compared to ScarJo's big news though: aside from being STD-free, she's engaged to what's-his-name, Ryan Reynolds!

People reports that she is expected to don her ring at the Costume Institute Gala tonight, along with her Dolce & Gabbana gown. Sources say the actress is eager to "show off her rock."

As for the Gala itself, The Post reports that tonight's event, "chaired by Giorgio Armani, George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Vogue editor Anna Wintour - celebrates Wednesday's opening of the museum's 'Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy' exhibit."
