• Pittsburgh 3 Rangers 2 OT: In the end it was another weird bounce that brought a close to the Rangers’ season. Dan Girardi tried to kick the puck out of the zone and instead of clearing it, deflected it right to Marian Hossa. Hossa deposited it past a surprised Henrik Lundqvist for the win.

  It was a devastating end to a game that showed the resilience of the Rangers. Down 2-0 in the third period, New York got two quick goals in just over a minute to tie the game and seize the momentum. And, after killing off a double-minor penalty on Chris Drury at the end of regulation and the start of overtime, it seemed like they would find a way to win.

  But, it was not to be and the Rangers have a big offseason with lots of questions facing them. The biggest are, will Jaromir Jagr and Brendan Shanahan be back and what happens with Sean Avery?

• Yankees 8 Mariners 2: Seattle was the perfect cure for the Yankees ills this weekend. Darrell Rasner completed the sweep with a solid six innings and Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano both went deep. New York is back over .500 and have Monday off.
• Mets 5 Arizona 2: The Diamondbacks made a huge error in the ninth that broke up a tie game and the Mets added two more runs in the frame. Johan Santana struck out eight over six innings, but lost the chance at a w when the bullpen couldn’t hold a 2-1 lead. David Wright hit his sixth homer of the year in the fourth.
