- A Brooklyn synagogue employee was arrested for molesting two boys aged 13 and 14. The police report read, "the suspect [a nonreligious employee] had touched their private parts on more than one occasion while assisting them with their religious studies."
- A publicity stunt that will certainly go a little crazy: Long Island radio station WBLI is offering $1.06/gallon gas at a Lukoil station in Bay Shore.
- UBS may shed 8,000 jobs; it's unclear how many would be in the U.S.
