Home Invasion on Upper West Side

2008_05_uwshomein.jpgThe NYPD released these photos of two men suspected of robbing a townhouse on West 87th Street in Manhattan.

Last Friday, the suspects allegedly asked a 10-year-old girl who was playing outside the house if an adult was home. The girl was the daughter of the homeowner's housekeeper, and the owner Mark Appel told the Daily News the men "forced her into the house."

They made the girl and her mother stay in a bedroom--Appel said, "One guy kept guard while the other guy robbed the house"--and the suspects eventually made off with a laptop, a digital camera, cash and other items. The woman and child were not hurt.

People with more information should call Crimestopper (800-577-TIPS). And the NYPD advises people not to open their doors unless they are absolutely sure they know who is on the other side--home invasions have been on the rise over the past few years.

Yikes, the mom and her daughter must have been freaking out. Hope these guys get caught.

In before predictable Gothamist racist comments!

The one on the left looks like "Snoopy" from The Wire.

Lol, white and black, working together!

Who's white? And the guy on the left is brilliant "Hey, does that camera work?"

the guy on the left looks like Jimmy Fallon

Today must be the best day in that woman and girl's life. When they eat their cereal, it must taste better than any other bowl of cereal they've ever eaten. They can probably smell the flowers blooming that they've never noticed before.

They're alive. No doubt they've learned to appreciate life like never before. For the first time in their lives... they're alive!

At least the woman and girl weren't tied up, raped, and slaughtered like that home invasion in Conneticut.

I love the sense of entitlement: "Let's go into this person's home and take their stuff because we're to lazy to work hard to get the things we want. Oh, and who cares if we terrorize a child in the process."

I hope the next home they enter is occupied by someone with good aim.

Stop being racists. They appear to be hispanic not black. The guy on the left should have left his drivers license on the way out.

Is the guy on the left Everlast? Oh, Everlast, no!

now the housekeeper knows the house is wired.

Growing up in New York in the 80s, rule 1. i never got to "play outside" alone, 2. if i was out, "don't talk to strangers." and 3. scream like a nut and run if someone tries to grab you.
They ARE lucky they weren't raped or killed.

Yes jaja007, we have all seen Fight Club 5,000 times, but you sort of spoiled it all by explaining yourself on paragraph 2.

I love spoiling things

I wish to god they'd invade my place. I've always wanted to redecorate the walls with brain matter.
