ART: The 6th annual IMAterial, put on by Hunter College's MFA in Integrated Media Arts program, starts up their 3-days fest of digital and new media art (including video, interactive, installation, performance, games and web-based art) produced by students and faculty of the IMA-MFA program. "Projects in the program have ranged from public exhibitions, performances and screenings, to online networked game environments, to rich media for PDAs and cell phones. From intimate personal stories with universal human appeal to global collaborative networks to in-depth media critique, IMA-MFA students work to bring resonant messages to the medium."

6 to 9 p.m. // Black Box Gallery, Hunter College [695 Park Ave, 5th Fl] // Free

EVENT: Nerd Nite is upon us once again. Geek out at Angels & Kings for an evening described as being like the "Discovery Channel with beer." Tonight features the unlikely pairing of Manhattan Borough historian Mike Miscione and human parasite experts Dr. John Dodson and Neil Janowitz.

7 p.m. // Angels & Kings [500 E 11th St] // Free, Two Drink Minimum

0804enon.jpgMUSIC: Enon are back with their 5th album -- where they amp up the "BPMs for a manic fast paced punch in the neck." Join John Schmersal, Toko Yasuda and Matt Schulz for their spazzy post-punk pop magic. Men, Women & Children and Blonde Acid Cult are also on the bill.

9 p.m. // Hiro Ballroom [363 West 16th St] //

THEATER: Confined to a tiny stage within a stage, two mysterious drifters find a common ground in their Jewish heritage and appreciation for quality footwear. Directed and performed by Peter Jacobs and MKS Volcofsky, Kicked Out of Death is a two-person play exploring “catastrophic intellectualism, isolation & self-obsession.” We can’t tell you much more than that, but this is being presented at the ever-adventurous Chocolate Factory in LIC through Saturday, and artistic director Brian Rogers says “it's very special in a way that I can't easily describe.” – John Del Signore

10 p.m. // Chocolate Factory Theater [5-49 49th Ave, Long Island City, Queens] // Tickets cost $10

It's the same media that NEVER mentioned Muslims' hatred of Israel as a possible motive for 9/11.
