Buskers Audition at Grand Central Terminal

Today, more than 50 musicians and musical acts gathered on the northeast balcony of Grand Central Terminal to audition for spots in NYC Transit's Music Under New York program. MUNY grants buskers spots in subway stations to entertain commuters and make a little cash in the process.

There were about 25 judges--almost as many members of the media on hand to capture the event--who will select 20 performers to be a part of Music Under New York. Currently, there are 100 individuals and groups performing in the program and, according to the MTA, that adds up to 150 weekly performances in 23 transit locations in the system.

No, yes, yes, no, no, yes, yes

They can play my flute any day.

I tend to change cars when confronted with subway musicians, dancers, jugglers, salesmen, etc., especially the Mariachi Brothers.

I like a quiet ride home...

Them's aint Buskers. Those are entertainers with a security clearance. Buskers don't win spots. They take them. They often travel from city to city to spread grimey sensuality, foot tapping rhythm and the fleebitten traveller's wisdom that makes security zealots nervous.

Second from left please.

OH SHIT I MEANT SECOND FROM RIGHT! FROM RIIIIIIIGHT!

*phew*

no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, yes

I second the second from the right

no, no, no, no, no, yes, no

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes

I don't think that was the audition these women were looking for guys, but I look forward to seeing all of them on a platform nearby soon. They were good and very nice to pose for a picture.

And while I think this is a nice shot, it barely does any of these women justice.

You dorks are drooling over sixes and six point fives. Step your game up.

Three guesses as to who's the rapper in the group.

That's right, the second from the right.

2nd from right certainly doesn't need to be singing for change on the trains. I see a Cafe Gitane/Habana job in her future...

pretty much no to all, but I'd jack off in each of their faces.

The fat one in the middle. And the others, after I fatten them up.
