How about the B.E.L.T. at Community Food & Juice, or (more old-school) the Valentina at Defonte's, the roast pork Italian at Shorty's, or the muffuletta at Dive Bar? I can't disagree with Margon, Mike's, Mama's, Tiny's, or Banh Mi Saigon Bakery, either. Even if the Times was looking for "new," or at least new to Times readers, including the sesame pancakes from Prosperity Dumplings is a stretch. The morcilla sandwich at La Esquina Criolla...now, that's a sandwich.

Last time I was at Saigon Bahn Mi the prices had gone up and the quality down. And they even had a printed menu in English! I think their rein is over.
