Fire Extinguisher Street Art

Razor Apple has some photos of street artist MORAL's work. He's been bombing the city with fire extinguisher tags, one of a few taggers who uses that medium -- where the fire extinguisher is loaded up with paint. Just one of the many contributing to the rise of graffiti in town!

Here's an instruction manual on how to make your own and use one; and check it out in action here.

The trash that destroy property like this should be shot. Let them destroy their own neighborhoods, but don't piss on ours.

Just like a dog pissing on a fire hydrant.

Certain kinds of grafitti might qualify as "street art" but this definitely isn't that. It's just ugly crap. It's not art and it's not MORAL.

@3 Agreed. I mean, I think that Banksy's stuff is awesome, but this stuff is just stupid.

This is such a troll post.

Bleh, don't just spray your name or tag everywhere. That's dumb.

I'm a fan of the graffiti because I was an old school graffiti artist myself. I would specialize in the Peace Symbol, just the word "The Who", the backwards swastiker, I’d write, I’d draw the road runner, just the word "The Who", Repent 13, just the word "The Who". Yeah, those, those type of things.

Someone should blast this asshole's face with a fire extinguisher. Actually, make that a flamethrower.

if this "moral" fire extinguisher is "art', then i've got some "art" for ya right here...

What a tool. And the 'in-action' video is pretty bad too. That guy is also a tool. They all make graffiti artist all look bad. Unfortunate.

Scale is interesting, that's all I have to say about this.

If I caught whichever troll that tagged up my garage I would cut their head off. Then make a video of it so Gothamist might post a how to cut the head off piece of shot trolls that graffiti private property.

So Jake Dobkin now has Jen Carlson doing his dirty work after being roundly criticized for his pro-graffiti posts in the past? Wuss.

I see the tagged building off Van Brunt in Red Hook all the time and it makes me very sad. (I believe it's the fourth one in the series, right?) So ugly, oppressive, and destructive. I can usually sympathize at least a little bit with the ethos of "getting up," but this guy is just a criminal.

Face it Dobkin, you suck, glamorizing this shit.

Set this prick on fire and watch him cry for someone with an extinguisher.

Put simply, more page views equal more money for Gothamist. Clicking on this post pays them once; posting your outraged comments pays them two or three times. If you really want these comment-baiting graffiti stories gone, ignoring them is the best way to do it.

(I might add that this is why the -ist world has been told to use the new slideshow applet as much as possible.)

Just for the record, I've written graffiti before (not in NYC though) and "MORAL" doesn't deserve to eat KASE2's shit.

that kid is straight up TOY!

jake slobbinknob & this punk wouldnt have lasted one night in the ghost yard back in da dayz.

The mayor should unleash the "Terror Cops' on the bike thieves and puff can taggers and then maybe gotham might be saved... don't hold your breath.

all unsanctioned grafiti is bad.

"self expression is not a crime" ?

IT IS, if you are damaging other's property!!!!

Let me know if he does something of artistic value.

I like graffiti when it looks like art. This shit looks like the work of an illiterate elementary school delinquent who is just learning to write his name.

what do u think graffiti is... destruction of property!!! u think this guy cares what all of u think?... hell no! what about all the crap the public doesnt ask for... billboards, commercials, all the for sale signs. Isnt all that shit graffiti.. u think i want to see a big billboard of angelina jolie advertising her next over-budgeted waste of time movie???the streets are public domain!! we should be able to express ourselves however we want. dont get the wrong idea i dont support writing on private property, schools, or government buildings...but how do u think a"graffiti artist" gets to a point where people like u guys call it "art"?... he starts with the simple tag!!
