Daily News Says Roger Clemens Had 10-Year Affair With Mindy McCready

2008_04_rocketmindy.jpgCould this year get any worse for Debbie Clemens? Not only has the wife of embattled pitching ace Roger Clemens been accused of taking HGH with her husband, now sources says she knew about her husband's alleged 10-year affair with country star Mindy McCready, who was 15 (that's Miley Cyrus's age!) when it started!

Sources tell the Daily News that Clemens met McCready when she "was a 15-year-old aspiring singer performing in a karaoke bar and Clemens was a 28-year-old Red Sox ace and married father of two." Clemens's lawyer told the Rocket "flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her. He's considered her a close family friend. ... He has never had a sexual relationship with her."

The News suggests that the new information may help out Clemens's former trainer, Brian McNamee. Clemens sued McNamee for defamation, after McNamee said the 7-time Cy Young winner used steroids (Clemens has denied using HGH, but lawmakers aren't quite convinced).

Among the rumored details: They met when "Clemens threw a shirt with his and several teammates' signatures onstage" at the bar where McCready was singing karaoke; Debbie Clemens knew of the affair; Clemens would send McCready FedEx packages of cash; they would take trips to Las Vegas and NYC (one time, they "holed up in the trendy SoHo Grand and later partied with Monica Lewinsky and Michael Jordan").

and i'm supposed to care because...............?

"holed up in the trendy SoHo Grand and later partied with Monica Lewinsky and Michael Jordan"

...dumb and dumber meets dumber and dumber

The next stadium Clemens pitches in should be renamed "Trailer Park".

newsflash - people having consensual sex with each other is not news

It is if one of them is 15 years old.

The downfall of Roger Clemens: Drugs and women. Both take years off a man's life.

So Mindy's PR folk leak the story to the Daily News (who run with it on the front page in return for the exclusive).

Clemens wants to sue the DN for libel but this time he will listen to counsel and STFU.

Um, gross.

one time, they "holed up in the trendy SoHo Grand and later partied with Monica Lewinsky and Michael Jordan").

If we even cared to begin with, how the heck is this believable. Why not throw a Spice Girls mention in there for good measure?

Something about the Daily News article doesn't add up. (According to Wikipedia) Clemens is 45 and McCready is 32. If they've been having a ten-year affair then it should have started when he was 35 and she was 22.

Perhaps that ten year affair ended several years ago?

hmm. mindy singing a tune while roger shoots roids into his buttocks, monica gives someone a BJ and MJ takes bets on the action in the room. sounds like a grand ole time to me!

Bet those GOPers who covered his ample ass at the McNamee hearings are glad they did that now.

"had" Dirk "had" - past tense. You can do it buddy...just...try...to...concentrate.

Ah... yes... I had a brain fart there....
