Yeah, his quote about Hoboken is a little out of context. He spoke at length about pizza in Hoboken (where he said he lives) and I think he did talk about that one. I can't quote him, so I won't try.

Oh No! Riding around New York in a bus eating pizza! How horrible! If Princess Coldstare were driving the bus, and it were covered in denim, everyone would be on their knees behind Happy Endings to get reservations.

If I remember correctly, all the pizza establishments also sell beer. Having someone drive me around to drink beer and eat pizza. Yeah, I'm in.

@TimSPC: I agree that overall Benny Tudino's is pretty great, and when drunk the novelty of the huge slice never gets old. The only drawback is you have 1d6 chance of Vinnie Goombatz throwing up AfterShock onto your shoes.

What this guy said about Hoboken pizza is absurd. Benny Tudino's is the best pure slice joint in the New York metropolitan area.

I've also found that you're much more likely to get a good slice at any random spot outside of Manhattan than in.

you know this is a rip off of the "A Slice of Brooklyn" pizza tour...right?

lets try to be more original people, for f-ck's sake

Scott is an awesome guy and Truly knows what he's talking about when it comes to pizza. I can't wait to take the tour! We need more fun stuff like this in NYC. It might actually give the Tourists a chance to taste real pizza and stay away from Pizza Hut in Times Sq!

I sent in the link to Jen about the tour - I'm quoted in the article actually. My friend who knows Scott invited me, but I didn't know him before.

Scott made a point of letting us know the bus is a new model and among the greener busses they make these days.

He's a cool guy and he has it together, he knows the history of the food and of the people and places through history that contributed to the culture.

No need for so much vitriol against a guy who is sharing something he is passionate about.

A relative emailed me last year about a very similar Brooklyn pizza tour. THAT one stuck to the decidedly tourist-friendly destinations (like Grimaldi's and L & B Spumoni gardens) and avoided the weirder places where they might get bogged down. I can't see a tour bus *ever* planning to go to DiFara's, since you wouldn't want to schedule for a possible 3 hours in-and-out.

I see this one goes to Totonnos - good luck with that.

I'd rather suck in the bus' emissions than 'enthusiastic' Scott's.

Shouldn't some douche named Wiener be leading tours of a hot dog eating odyssey, anyway?

I was lucky enough to be on the maiden voyage yesterday. Some of you seem to be confused...this tour is not only to go eat good pizza, but to learn about pizza history and the history of some of NYCs best pizzerias. There are even some surprise bonus stops. Yesterday, we stopped by a historic oven manufacturer. Also, Scott asks trivia questions on the bus where you can win some sweet prizes.

And by the way, parking the school bus was never a problem for all-star bus driver.

Great. So the people who don't need to be led around by their noses to find good pizza now have to deal with a school bus full of idiots swamping wherever they happen to be trying to get a slice. Whoopee.

more annoying intrusions

add this new lunacy to the cupcake lines and gelato lines that already clutter up the sidewalks. Why can't these rubes just navigate Manhattan like the rest of us? If you need a tour operator to lead you to a decent slice of pizza, you are an idiot.
