THEATER: In Matthew Freeman’s new play When is a Clock, a man searches small town Pennsylvania for his missing wife, who disappeared leaving behind only a dog-eared copy of a ‘cult-like’ book called Traveling to Montpelier. The quest is complicated by the police, who see him as a prime suspect, and his adolescent son, who's characteristically unhelpful. The Times calls the production, which mixes live action with video of sleepy Pennsylvania to conjure a Lynchian effect, “appealingly abnormal,” and says one character’s monologue “deserves to be enshrined in some kind of hall of fame: it’s savvy and preposterous and utterly original.” – John Del Signore
8 p.m. // Access Theater [380 Broadway] // Tickets cost $18.
MUSIC: Despite what The Telegraph may have said, Foals sound nothing like Radiohead -- and are certainly not "the new Radiohead." OMR says they "play noodling math-pop with a splash of synthy spazz that you can dance to." If this sounds like your thing, and it seems to be a lot of people's "thing," head over to Bowery tonight for their set. Get there early for The Epochs!
8 p.m. // Bowery Ballroom [6 Delancey St] // $15
