Elderly Woman Robbed, Tied Up in Brooklyn Home

The police are looking for two men suspected of robbing an elderly woman at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon. As the woman entered her apartment on Neptune Avenue, police say two men "forced their way into the apartment, where the tied up the 73-year-old woman at gunpoint before taking her ATM card, pin number and assorted jewelry."

Seventy-three-year-old Shirley Rosenstock managed to break free and call the police. The police found that her ATM card was used at a bodega and released surveillance video and images of the suspects (one is a black male, about 6 feet tall; the other is a Hispanic male, about 5'10"). The Daily News described, "At about 5:45 p.m., the suspects were recorded entering a store and apparently using the stolen ATM card as a dark-colored bodega cat sat shiftless nearby."

Call Crimestoppers (800-577-TIPS) to share information. Last month, the State Senate passed the "Granny Law", which imposes stiffer penalties for people who attack the elderly. The law was prompted by one man beating a 101-year-old woman in Queens, and then attacking an 85-year-old later on.

When caught, the two individuals traced back their career in crime to a fault in the qualification requirements for being an Eagle Scout. The grandmother's aunt of one of the alleged perps said he was an "A" student and never sassed back.

How did a 73 year old woman manage to break free of her bonds? Were these so-called men that inept at tying knots?

Hey! Stop being racist. Could you just say "two men"?
Sure they could. They could also say "a group of men." They could also say "a group of people." It's not racist to provide accurate information captured on film, and it's bad reporting not to do so if it's available.

I know when I go into a bodega and see a "dark-colored bodega cat sat shiftless nearby," I just walk out.

Nothing good can come from a dark-colored cat sitting shiftless nearby...in a bodega.

Why can't these dark-colored bodega cats just get jobs like everyone else? Until then, the rest of us will continue to look down on them. The cats I mean.

Is bodega cat a new breed? And how does it rank against Russian Blues and Persians?

The shiftless dark-colored bodega cat would probably tie up and rob the old russian blues and/or persians. Afterwards, it would go to a local bodega and purchase some 40s with the ATM card it just had stolen and get its dumbass caught on surveillance.
