MOVIE: Following Earth Day, Screening Liberally is screening Everything's Cool, a film about "America finally 'getting' global warming in the wake of the most dangerous chasm ever to emerge between scientific understanding and political action. While industry funded nay-sayers sing what just might be their swan song of pseudo- scientific deception, a group of global warming messengers are on a high stakes quest to find the iconic image, the magic language, the points of leverage that will finally create the political will to move the United States from its reliance on fossil fuels to the new clean energy economy - and fast." Comedians to follow!

THEATER: New York is Dead, and a downtown theater collective is sending it off with a five day wake. Working Man's Clothes tells us the time has come to bury this formerly dirty town, which has become “fake, commercial and almost solely for the wealthy.” Tonight (and tomorrow night) they’ve transformed the theater “into an open market of dance, performance art, theatre, music, visual art, and comedy.” The O’Debra Twins, Mannequin Circus and Draw-A-Thon are all on the bill, which kind of makes you wonder if the rumors of New York’s death might be just a little bit exaggerated. (Kidding; it's definitely D.O.A.) – John Del Signore
