This sounds like bullshit. They couldnt find a wildlife specialist or vet closer than Utica. I guess whomever got stuck with transporting the little critter wanted to go to turning stone casino for the weekend.

Never mind the salt. There are far more toxic substances in the East River that would have and probably did kill the beaver.
