EVENT: Tonight the Brooklyn Art Project and BAM present Connected Unconscious, "a collaborative exhibition celebrating the creative possibilities of our web 2.0 connected world." 15 original pieces of art will be on display from artists worldwide, as well as video and music remixes. Bonus: free cocktails courtesy of BAM.
MUSIC: Dan Deacon and The Ed Schrader Show hold court at the Ridgewood Temple tonight. The venue is apparently "a masonic temple off the Gates stop on the J" -- expect a little more than live music. The night will be "a live action talk show variety show, w/ comedy performance and a sitdown interview w/ Michael Showalter...a full-length musical performance & sitdown interview w/ Dan Deacon."
8 p.m. // The Ridgewood Temple [1054 Bushwick Ave]
BURLESQUE: In honor of New York's Comic Con (coming up this weekend), the burlesque set has thrown together a little show. Expect appearances by: Fem Appeal, Nasty Canasta, Leyla Rose, Weirdee Girl, Little Brooklyn, and Creamy Stevens (amongst others).
THEATER: Welcome to Funland (or how to turn yourself to dust) was created by Magin Schantz and Michael Iannantuono; the twosome have put together "a totally unique show that is part circus, part musical, part dystopian fantasy, and staged in a dark basement amidst a menagerie of performance installations, concession stands and ambient music." Expect a slew of talented performers, a live band, snacks, drinks, and much more.
10:30 p.m. // Green Room [45 Bleecker St] // $12
