I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the inanity of all of the comments here. It pains me that it is too much to expect of people, to judge the man on his actual actions and thoughts as pope. Benedict is a brilliant theologian and loving pastor, and his thinking is highly steeped in the type of reasoned discourse that most secularists would claim to cherish. Yet, most people on this site are more then willing to descend to childish comments and banter. #3 was looking forward to an article on the Pope's faces, because most of them are "dark-eyed and evil." Instead of judging people on what we perceive their looks demonstrate, let's focus on what values and ideas people actually have and set forth. Unfortunately, that may involve more thinking than our 'soundbite culture' is willing to involve itself in at this present moment.
