"'isiah might get fired' has been re-iterated so many times in the last 5 years and it's never come true." Yes it has... he was fired from his GM job just a couple of weeks ago. And there's no way he'll be coaching the team after this season; the only question is whether he'll be tossed some meaningless do-nothing position since he'll still be under contract, or whether they'll just buy him out.

"New team president Donnie Walsh will ultimately decide if Thomas gets to stay as coach. Thomas hasn't done anything to merit keeping his job, but the two did work together in Indiana, so don't count out something strange." Sure, they "did work together" in Indiana... but that togetherness ended with Thomas being fired. While the decision was credited to Larry Bird, then president of basketball operations, Walsh was the CEO and said then that he agreed with the decision.. calling it "the best thing for us and the best thing for Isiah." So... here's to another end of togetherness.
